A: How to attach importance to routine inspection?

Q: Although drying cylinders of asphalt mixing equipment have been tested and checked before delivery, they shall undergo one comprehensive inspection before utilization due to bumping and vibration when delivering them to construction sites: check whether bolts are tightened, whether key pins are driven in reliably, whether drive devices are adjusted as per instructions of the manufacturer, whether pipes are connected correctly, whether pipe joints are safe and reliable, whether the entire machine is lubricated thoroughly, whether motor parts rotate stably along correct rotating direction after starting the motor, whether the pressure gauge works normally, whether the safe valve is adjusted to correct pressure, whether the ignition mechanism of the burner is applicable and whether valves are open.

A:What is the correct method of operation?

Q: After starting the machine, the equipment is suggested to be operated manually at the beginning and switch to automatic control after reaching specified production capacity and unloading temperature. Aggregate shall be dried and have constant water content as much as possible to make aggregate keep constant temperature when flowing through the drying cylinder. If aggregate conveyed to the drying cylinder changes frequently and water content of each batch changes, the burner shall be regulated frequently to compensate for these changes.

Aggregate from rolled stone directly has almost constant water content but aggregate from an open yard has higher water content. Different piles also have greatly changed water content. Therefore, it is better to take aggregate from the same source.

A: How to carry out proper repairing and maintenance?

Q: (1) When the equipment is not operated, aggregate shall not be left in the drying cylinder. After each working day, the equipment shall be operated to unload aggregate in the drying cylinder completely. After unloading aggregate in the drying cylinder completely, the burner shall be stopped and the cylinder shall idle for about 30min to facilitate cooling and minimize its deformation or impact on linear operation of the machine.

(2) Supporting rings of the drying cylinder shall seat on the supporting roller evenly. The bearing shall be adjusted in case of abrasion and misalignment.

(3) Check setting-out of the cylinder frequently. First loosen the thrust roller and check movement of the cylinder in the length range of the slot on the supporting bracket before starting the drying cylinder. If the cylinder moves forwards and backwards, the supporting roller shall be checked for alignment. If the supporting roller is aligned and the cylinder runs to the feeding end gradually, the thrust roller has front and rear deviation temporarily (make the drying cylinder at correct working angle) till reaching correct adjustment. If the cylinder runs to the unloading end gradually, the thrust roller is adjusted from the opposed direction.

(4) If the roller track only contacts one of two thrust rollers, clearance piece can be filled under seat of the supporting roller till they can be pressed on the entire surface width of the supporting ring evenly.

(5) It is specified the thrust roller is used to keep position of the cylinder but not to compensate for error of misalignment.

(6) A few lubricants are needed if chain drive is installed. Chain tension is adjusted through regulating screw rods on the seat.
